Clinique GWP @ Macy's

I love Clinique GWPs (Gift With Purchase). :) The items are always either full-sized, or generously sized, so you get a chance to try things out without spending a lot (all my lipsticks are either from GPWs, or Back-2-MAC! :D), or pass it onto somebody else. ;)

Clinique's current GWP at Macy's (purchase of $21.50 and over) is for the set listed above. You get a choice of either purple or pink, although both have the same products. The palette is actually super cute - it has flowers printed on the cover (instead of a boring plain one), and it consists of Like Mink e/s duo, and Smoldering Plum blush. The lipsticks are Beauty, and Raspberry Glace.

Palette, Beauty l/s, Raspberry Glace l/s

Like Mink (left), Smoldering Plum (right), Beauty l/s (bottom left), Raspberry Glace (bottom right)

Both lipsticks are very creamy, and smooth when applied. Beauty is a creamy matte, whereas Raspberry Glace has small golden flecks (not super visible in person).

This was my purchase for $39.50. It's supposed to even out skintone, reduce scarring, and fade redness/brown spots. I've been using it for two days, so I can't quite give you guys a verdict yet, but so far, it hasn't broken me out, and does not cause me to get oily/greasy. It's a very light serum, and I apply it twice a day - once in the morning, and once before I go to bed. Because the product contains salicylic acid, sunscreen should be worn during the day to protect your skin. I would say that it's best for those with light scars/pigmentation, either from acne or scabs. If you have heavier and deeper scars, it might not be as effective. The packaging is nice because it comes with a pump that squirts out just enough to cover my nose and cheeks.

Either way, I'll keep using it for the next few weeks and report back on the effectiveness!

Wow 2 lippies! Usually it's only 1. And these colors actually look wearable for once! Lol I am being hard on Clinique GWPs, usually they are not very creative, but this one looks promising. Keep us updated on the serum!

That is quite a nice GWP :) The ones available here in Amsterdam are less, shall we say, generous. About organic products, I've been to a cosmetics convention these last few days and there is a huge emphasis on natural or organic products. So I hope and guess we will see a lot of those products coming into the market. Maybe something will lure you into natural products then :) Btw, I wanted to congratulate you on winning the contest on Spektra. That was a wonderful tutorial!

take care!

That's a nice GWP! I'm thinking about getting the Take off the Day makeup remover so, maybe I can find one more thing and qualify for the minimum purchase!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog! I usually don't go that much higher on my lid when I use colors, because yeah I will look like a clown :P When I do neutral looks, I'll do alot more all over the lid and what not. Plus, I'm not very creative to do really complicated blended looks, lol.

I've linked you! Hope that's alright :)

love the lippies! :)

my favorites from the she space are the brighter colors. :P hehe.
1.) Can't Hide from Karma (vivid medium Purpley Blue)
2.) Fire and Brimstone (vivid medium golden orange)
3.) Acidic Reign (deep sea green)
4.) Halos and Horns (medium Pinky Red)
5.) Full of Hope (light golden yellow)

:) Pom Pom Chic is also a good baby pink color and Chasing Rainbows is a VERY pretty light coralish pink color. :)

Nic: The GWPs are always pretty nice, especially the lipsticks. Do you guys get GWPs as well? I never smile with my teeth showing, so nobody knows I have braces, hehe.

Lurve: Yep, they're actually pretty nice! I usually give them to my mom, but these two are pretty werable.

Petite: Haha I have to agree with you. Clinique's decent 60% of the time, the other 40% has pretty boring stuff.

Grayburn: Thanks dear. :) You'll have to update me on what your convention says about organic/natural makeup!

Lakahna: The raspberry one is pretty; it also have little gold flecks which aren't very visible until you get upclose.

Junglejane: That's good to hear! Hopefully I'll see a change soon. :) Thanks for visiting, btw!

Bliss: It's a cute little bag, isn't it? I was surprised that the palette matched - usually they go cheap and just make the cover plain.

Gee: Thanks for linking! I'm happy to return the favor. :) Thanks for stopping by, it's good to see new faces, so to speak, haha.

Christiana: Thanks for the list! Now that I know where to start, I might actually just consider making an order. Enabler! Haha.

Cheeeezie: Thanks for visiting! Hopefully the serum works, otherwise it's $40 down the drain!

Please do a review on the serum. I really want to know if it helps wiht scarring and redness! I'm using a scarring treatment from Body Shop and it doesn't seem to be working, so I'm pretty disappointed. I want results FAST lol.
