Cosmetic Company Outlet
If you're new to the world of MAC, you might have seen the term "CCO" scattered through various blogs and forums. CCO means Cosmetic Company Outlet, which is a store that sells discounted Estee Lauder Brands (and yes, this includes MAC!). Prices are generally discounted by 30%, and there are various brands such as Bobbi Brown, Stila, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Prescriptive etc.
The reason why the products are discounted are because they're either discontinued, or are leftovers that did not sell when it first came out. Most products generally don't have to worry about the expiration date, but for liquid products (e.g. lipgloss and mascara), you might want to check the date or the scent of the product. I've been lucky and have never had an issue with any lip products I've bought.
All CCOs are different, and items differ in each location. They generally get a shipment about once a month around the same time, so if you live pretty far from one, give them a call before you go. If you live close to one (like I do!), then you'll be going every month. :P
As far as I know, CCOs are only in the U.S., although I did hear that there are three in the UK (London, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Portsmouth). You can find a list of the U.S. ones at OutletBound.com (listed under "Cosmetic Company Outlet/Estee Lauder"), but I have no idea the exact locations for the UK ones. Sorry ladies!
